Left this world Wednesday 25th March 2009. R.I.P. dear friend.
The world is a much better place because you were here.
Remember

Remember
by Christina Rossetti
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
Gone far away into the silent land;

The part of Josie I remember most is her voice and that quirky cockney accent which was so endearing.
ReplyDeleteI also remember a couple of great little parties at her Angus Street house, with most of the action occurring on the deck at the back.
thankyou Barbara
ReplyDeletehi Barb
ReplyDeleteI had been trying to find out some news about Josie's death and came across this today. I have wonderful memories of the parties we had at Josie's, there was always a lot of singing, music, laughter and fun.
I will treasure my memories of both her and Natalie
love to you
Mel
Hi, Mel
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time, Mel, and it is good to hear from you. I couldn't see your email on your blog. Please send me a message on Facebook and we can get in touch.
Josie's parties were legendary, as was she. So sad to lose her.
